Press Release Summary = Mobile Bridges has signed a deal with the two mobile phone operators in Peru. It will give Mobile Bridges an SMS gateway status and a head start in the lucrative Peruvian mobile market.
Press Release Body = Hoorn NH, The Netherlands - October 25, 2006
By signing up the 2 major operators, Claro and Movistar, the full potential of the Peruvian mobile messaging and data market, including premium SMS and WAP services, has come within reach of Mobile Bridges.
At present, the premium SMS-market in Peru is definitively pre-mature. For instance: premium SMS solutions are not widely offered. However, the number of 6,5 million mobile phone subscribers is rapidly growing and the Peruvian market is very provider-friendly, featuring uniform tariffs and cross-network premium rate numbers can rather easily be obtained.
Mobile Bridges was the preferred party for both mobile operators because of proven capabilities, its extensive product range, the capacity of handling very large volumes of SMS messages and its local presence in Lima.
"Peru offers huge mobile opportunities waiting to be disclosed by an international service provider like Mobile Bridges. Our company will add quality, reliability and maturity", Managing Director Mobile Bridges Peru SAC, Aquiles Chulluncuy says. "Currently the Peruvian market is being served by small local companies only. Mobile Bridges, with its state-of-the-art-technology, its strong marketing approach and financial stability, is ideally positioned to implement internationally proven solutions and mobile business models. The excellent response of the market to the initial SMS projects in Peru has enhanced our relationship with the local operators, the scenario couldn't be better now."
Mobile Bridges' prime position is further enhanced by the opening of an office in Lima, Peru in January this year. The Lima office now teams 10 specialists already and is rapidly expanding.
"Lima is centrally located in Latin America and acts as our hub to other markets in the region. Plans are finalized for opening new Mobile Bridges' strongholds in Brazil and Argentine also", says Alexander Reus, co-founder and CEO of Mobile Bridges International.
